Well, the spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights is coming closer a store shelf as we speak. BioWare announced the existence of a toolset and speculation and querying runs wild on the BioBoards. Fun indeed.

Cheers to BW for making another community friendly game. Also I think that its been an ingredient in their Dragon Age recipie all the time, nothing has been confirmed until now.

So whats up with the DA:Origins? Endless possibilities, or at least I think the developers will cram out every ounce of playability, modability, and longevity of this game for as long as possible. Hence the tiltle “Origins”. Only the beginning. They’ve learned a lot over the years with the Baldurs and NWN community making mods and requesting improvements and/or alterations to their original products.

Let me look into my scrying glass for a while;
Will persistent worlds(PW) be a Dragon Age possibility? Yes.
Will PWs need a third party file, like NWN 2? Maybe, but now featuring download possibilities in-game.
Will there be horses? Yes.
Will DA:Origins match NWNs replayability? Yes, and moreso.

For download possibilities in-game one would want to confirm a update/download and then initialize ones anti-virus software to scan the file(s). Piece of cake to make custom content and special tweaks and rules requiring third party files if BioWare would like to make some community oriented implementations to the game.

What about digital distribution and premium modules programs? Well, we’ve only seen the beginning.
Soon My Dragon Age mod will be downloaded on the Xbox Live market and I will play on my PC homemade Dragon Age Persistent World with both Xbox and PC gamers.

Amazing!

Well, now with the final patch for Neverwinter Nights out in the open. Whats the take on the game?
I, for one, has waited a long time for this as it’s the final piece for a optimal build without any hakpaks.
The community is now dwindling and players finding new games, but one this that is perfectly clear too, is that still new creators and players join.
The forums is a lot slower than in the heydays of expansion releases and long lists of new custom content on the Vaults first page.
Now some older community members still remain and some have moved on. The work put out by those still in it is simply amazing! I also enjoy seeing such NWN profiles such as Alex Hugon and Erik Karlsson being so young. What a potential they show us!

What do I do in all this then? Well I’ve been an avid lurker at forums from around, like ages ago, the release of Neverwinter Nights. I dabble in custom content creation, scripting, 3d modeling but mostly creating in the toolset and writing the Endooran Chronicles.
My plans for the nearest future is to release a small playable version of Port Teyhen, now with all custom tilesets cut out, to test run and have a blast at my own server.

Im going to post some good hints and tips for NWN in the nearest future. Stay tuned.
